Aurizon is Australia’s largest freight operator delivering goods and services countrywide. Moving forward is a natural part of what they do. The company wanted and needed to create the same sense of direction in its people, its business and its workspaces – prompting a move to new offices at 900 Ann Street and 100 Brookes Street, in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

The tower at 900 Ann Street was designed by John Wardle Architects, with innovative floorplans and gathering spaces intended to encourage collaboration and agile working. The building also has landscaped gardens designed to be an extension of the workspaces, giving people a chance to connect in casual as well as more formal settings.

As part of its mission to foster change and growth, Aurizon became the 15-storey, Green Star-rated building’s anchor tenant, taking on 15,000 square metres worth of space. The freight operator then sought the assistance of HASSELL Studio to turn this space into the kind of workplace they wanted to create.
