Herman Miller’s SAARC dealers come together in Bangalore, and the brand launches the newly remastered Aeron at the same time | 2/24/2017

Herman Miller dealers from SAARC countries – such as Nepal, India and Sri Lanka – come together to share market and business insights, to network and to find out about Herman Miller news bi-annually. The 2016-2017 event happened on Friday 24 February at the JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Bangalore. This meet was a particularly special one: it was also the regional launch of the remastered Aeron chair, giving dealers in the SAARC market an opportunity to experience firsthand the exciting innovations that have been incorporated into this refined icon.

The dealer meet started in the morning with an Asia update from Kartik Shethia, VP Herman Miller APAC, followed by updates on the SAARC market, India plant and more. As part of this session, an guest speaker from Ernest & Young also shared insights about the tax changes in India and how these will affect businesses.

The entire meet was very interactive and informative, with dealers across region speaking about dynamics in their markets. They also shared various success stories, as well as challenges they had faced. Overall, the event served a fun and effective platform for dealers to have face-to-face interaction and share their ideas with Herman Miller’s senior management team. It also gave them the chance to hear about what is happening in other regional markets.

Alongside the dealer event was the launch of the newly redesigned Aeron chair. This kicked off with a press event at the Grand Ballroom at the JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru. The media spoke to Herman Miller’s experts about why it was time to remaster the Aeron chair, and what that entailed.

Around 15 media covered the new-and-improved Aeron, while the press release ran on a total of 98 media platforms, including 57 electronic platforms and 37 print outlets. In addition, two video interviews from the press event later ran on local news channels.

Once the dealer and press events had wrapped up, the evening was transformed for the official launch of the remastered Aeron. That evening, the stage was set for the main event. On display throughout the Grand Ballroom was the story of the remastered Aeron and the transition from the classic Aeron to the new one.

The magic moment came when Kartik unveiled the new chair to the event’s 180 guests. Maria Andreu, Product Manager, Seating for Asia Pacific, Herman Miller, then presented the new Aeron’s ergonomic qualities.

Attending the evening were architects, interior designers, project management consultants and others, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the new Aeron chair. Guests commented on the remastered Aeron’s comfort, attention to detail, movement and ease of adjustment.

After the unveiling ceremony, guests enjoyed an opportunity to connect over drinks and dinner. All in all, it was a well-rounded event – one that gave guests the chance to interact, discover and learn.
