From a performance work chair to a carbon-fibre road bike, we at Herman Miller love a good ride. That’s why we’ve teamed up with our friends at the cycling clothing brand Rapha to celebrate the best of performance and design. Herman Miller and Rapha are both dedicated to technical ingenuity and design innovation whether it takes the form of apparel made to endure the demands of road cycling or a piece of modern furniture that elevates everyday living.
Herman Miller and Rapha team up for a guided design tour by bike.
As part of our collaboration, Herman Miller and Rapha have launched the Herman Miller Design Ride - a set of curated architecture tours led by local creatives in select cities around the world. Each ride is hosted in partnership with Rapha’s global network of cycling clubhouses. The first of the series have been held in select American cities, and now we are hosting a ride in Melbourne Australia.
Join us on this exciting ride.

Herman Miller Design Ride: Melbourne Modern
Put pedal to pavement to explore a city bursting with design. Melbourne Modern draws its influences from Robin Boyd's Victorian Modern and is a celebration of the city's stunning architecture. The best way to get a taste of the design that is Melbourne (the world's most liveable city) is by bike with Richard Weinman, Principal Warren and Mahoney - as he leads the ride.
Starting at Guilford lane, a typical Melbourne Laneway, the ride heads South to take in Melbourne's Art precinct, then west to chill, with thanks to Living Edge, at the iconic Robin Boyd House a residential tour de force. We'll head north to the sculptural Melbourne Museum demonstrating the connection to new and old, then to Council House via Fitzroy High School, and of course include some amazing design along the way. Melbourne architecture, both new and old, demonstrates why the city is Australia's centre of design
Numbers limited on the ride – book through link to secure your place.
